Information Technology/Computer Stuff

Hi there
We use alot of ICT in our classroom and we are always learning new things each week.
Like learning how to record and make movies on our interactice whiteboard or using our digital cameras and flip cameras to record other friends working.
We use the laptops to help us become researchers by searching the internet for answers then presenting our answers and mahi/work to show what we have learned. It's just simply awesome.

I have just recently attended a workshop about what our schools are beginning to look like and where we are heading. The iPad was one of the new resources that we looked at. I looked at a number of wonderful applications and thought I would like to share these with you. So if you have an iPad at home then some of these applications will be ideal and fun to use in your learning.

I'll keep posting any more useful apps to this page when I can.  Enjoy and let me know if you find some great apps that are handy for our learning.

Any problems with the iPad, do not hesitate to call me and I'll try and help out if I can.

Puppet Pals - I aim to use this in our Literacy programme, both Reading and Writing. The app. allows the children to create their own puppet show. This will be great for children to retell a story, make up their own story and present to the class, create their own puppet show as a form of publishing from their story writing.

Scribble Press - Another app that allows you to write and illustrate stories.  This app will allow you to send your completed book away to be printed but be aware that this does cost.

The Very Cranky Bear - An E-Book.  A great interactive story which can be read or you can read it. The pictures are interactive and you can make the animals move when you touch them.

Comic Life - This is brilliant for making poster presentations or you just want to create a comic using your own pictures.  You can use family photos or other images.  This does cost.

Fast Facts Addition - This app is made by Study Smart.  Great app for mathematics and basic facts in particular.  Some of the apps do cost and others are free.  I use this for a warm up in number knowledge.  Some you can get are Fast Facts - Early Additive, Fast Facts Addition, Fast Facts Multiplication.
